No problems with other web sites. I have encountered this problem over the last 2 weeks. It must be inherent to this desktop computer as I have not had problem with my laptop.

I can't seem to log on to my (web-based) AOL email account. What might the issue be?
AOL sucks. Get a new email from Yahoo or MSN.
AOL uses a secure address to log you in (the "s" in https://). Try going to different pages that start with https:// instead of the usual http:// and see if you can access them, or if it's just AOL.
If you cannot access any https:// pages then I'm guessing you have a security suite installed on your computer (i.e. Norton Internet Security, Mcafee Security) and its malfunctioning. You may have to remove the whole program and re-install it.
