Ok, so I have the great idea of starting up a website for my small, nothing fancy business. I bought the Starter plus package, (second package out of 3) from www.123-reg.co.uk that gives me web space, and loads of other stuff lol! and it also gives me 25 POP3 mailboxes. Ive tried for two days to try and configure or whatever them so instead of having an '@pophost.123-reg.co.uk' ending, they end in my domain name...now im thinking, its not possible! Can I do this? or do I have to purchase extra email things that end in my domain name seperately?
Please anyone help!!!
Thanks .Zoey x
123reg web/email help desperately needed...?
The simplest thing to do is to forward emails to another account. This is called catch all forwarding.
You can also set up your emails to work via pop3 but you'd havce to read up a bit more on how to do that.
Note that pophost.123-reg.co.uk is NOT your email address and you can't change it. It is what you use to connect to your POP3 server.
Reply:I also use 123 for my domain name, and I set up email forwarding to my account with my ISP madasafish, so it forwards rick@rick.co.uk to rick@madasafish.com, which I collect via my email client (I use Thunderbird, but Outlook or Outlook Express would do the same) on my PC. I recently changed ISP, so it used to forward rick@rick.co.uk to rick@pipex.com. It took maybe 30 mins to set up the first time, but only a couple of minutes when I changed ISP, and I'll continue to keep the same email address if I change ISP again.
